Next 'Coffee with a Cop' session scheduled for Bart and Yeti's in Lionshead
The Vail Police Department's “Coffee with a Cop” program continues Wednesday, Aug. 31 with free coffee at Bart and Yeti's in Lionshead from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. The monthly coffees are intended to provide opportunities for informal conversations between members of the community and representatives from the department.
Bear awareness will be the focus of the upcoming coffee, courtesy of Bart and Yeti's, where members of the department will be available to answer questions about enforcement of Vail's five-year-old wildlife protection ordinance and the positive impact it has had in reducing the number of neighborhood bear calls. Questions and discussions of other topics of interest will also be encouraged.
The Coffee with a Cop program was introduced in July with a gathering at Yetis Grind in Vail Village where participants discussed the impacts associated with the USA Pro Cycling Challenge as well as neighborhood speeding issues.
The September coffee will take place at the Marketplace on East Meadow Drive in Vail Village from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Sept. 14.
