Westin Riverfront offers Outstanding in the Field package
Five-course meal on July 20 at Copper Bar Ranch featuring Vail Valley chefs, Colorado farmers
Outstanding in the Field will set its long signature table at Vail Valley's historic Copper Bar Ranch for the second time on Wednesday, July 20th and Vail Valley's Westin Riverfront Resort & Spa at Beaver Creek Mountain is welcoming farm-to-table aficionados to the popular event with a special Back to Basics package.
The mission of Outstanding in the Field is to re-connect diners to the land and to honor the local farmers who cultivate it. Started in 1999 by California chef Jim Denevan, this roving culinary adventure will visit 90 American farms this summer for a feast featuring local farmers, food artisans, chefs and winemakers. One signature long, linen-draped table is set and all guests sit down together to break bread in rustic, romantic style.
The July 20th Outstanding in the Field will feature a five-course meal prepared in a gorgeous pasture by two acclaimed Vail Valley chefs – Armando Navarro of Larkspur and Jeremy Kittelson of Restaurant Avondale at The Westin Riverfront. Several local farmers will be on hand to be honored for their contributions to Colorado lamb, beef, produce, cheese and wine, including LaVenture Farms in Gypsum, Copper Bar Ranch in Edwards and James Ranch in Durango.
To help entice foodies to visit the Vail Valley, The Westin Riverfront is offering a special Back to Basics package, which starts at $399 per night and includes:

• Transportation to/from the event

• A fly fishing clinic with Gore Creek Flyfisherman on the Eagle River
• Continental breakfast delivered to your room on the first morning of your stay, including gourmet pastries, jam and coffee
