Eagle County commissioners to meet Tuesday on proposed redistricting
The Eagle County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing on proposed commissioner districts during its regular meeting on Tuesday. The meeting will take place at 1:30 p.m. May 17 in the Eagle County Room, located at 500 Broadway in Eagle, and will be available for live viewing on ecotv18, channel 18 on local cable systems as well as online at www.ecotv18.com.
Colorado law requires the county to evaluate commissioner districts every ten years following the completion of the U.S. Census. Districts must be as nearly equal in population as possible, based on Census counts. As proposed, the plan includes minor adjustments to the existing boundaries.
Tuesday's meeting will include ample opportunity for public input and all interested community members are encouraged to attend. To comment in advance of the meeting, visit www.eaglecounty.us/Commissioners/Meeting_Agendas/ and choose “Comment on this agenda,” or call 970-328-8705. A formal resolution adopting the districts will be scheduled for a future meeting.
