Eagle County warns of ECO Transit delays during USA Pro Challenge
ECO Transit passengers should expect route deviations and delays between approximately 2 and 4 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 23 during Stage 4 of the USA Pro Cycling Challenge.
The Eagle County portion starts at the top of Tennessee Pass with racers traveling on U.S. Highways 6 and 24 through Minturn and Eagle-Vail on their way to the finish at Beaver Creek. All traffic will be stopped or diverted while cyclists are on the course.
ECO Transit will continue to run all scheduled routes; however, delays of 20 to 45 minutes should be expected and passengers should plan accordingly.
Every stop on Highway 6 from the Forest Service Park and Ride to Avon Station and the Elk Lot will be affected and delays are expected for both eastbound and westbound buses. Passengers whose stops are closed due to the race will only be permitted to exit once the bus reaches the next open stop. It may be necessary for passengers to catch a bus in the opposite direction to reach their final destination.
