Vail Syposium presents climber Timothy O'Neill at Donovan Pavilion in Vail
As part of its ongoing Unlimited Adventure Series, the Vail Symposium tonight presents “First Ascents of the Soul -- Worldwide Adventure Compassion” with Timothy O'Neill at Donovan Pavilion in Vail.
There's a reception at 5:30, followed by the free presentation at 6 p.m.
O'Neill travels around the world pursuing his passion for adventure, climbing, community service, and humanitarian work. He has climbed in the remote ranges, completing first ascents from Greenland to Patagonia. O'Neill will share stories from his travels and adventures, telling them all with his trademark sense of humor.
O'Neill also partners with leading disabled athletes, including amputee and spinal injuries, in ascension and technology development. In 2007, O'Neill co-founded Paradox Sports, which aims to provide inspiration, opportunities and adaptive equipment to the disabled community, empowering their pursuit of a life of excellence through human-powered outdoor sports.
Over the past few years, O'Neill has also assisted Dr. Geoff Tabin with his ongoing efforts in curing blindness, participating in three missions on the African Continent.
O'Neill's discussion is presented in partnership with the Town of Vail Public Library, and his presentation is sponsored in part by Town of Vail, Aberle Investment Management, Crazy Mountain Brewing Company, Sundance Water Company, Red Bull and LÄRABAR.
Go to the Vail Symposium website for more information on the O'Neill presentation.
Next up in the Unlimited Adventure Series will be “No Barriers with Neal Petersen,” another free presentation at 6 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 23 at the Donovan Pavilion in Vail. Go to the Vail Symposium website for more information.
