Eagle County health officials offering $20 flu shots at three locations
Eagle County's Department of Public Health is offering walk-in vaccination clinics for seasonal flu in October and November at all three of its locations. Cost of the seasonal flu vaccine is $20 for those 19 and older and $14 for those 18 and younger. The clinic schedule is as follows:
Avon, 100 W. Beaver Creek Blvd., Suite 107
Every Wednesday from Oct. 5 to Nov. 9
3 to 5:30 p.m.
Eagle, 551 Broadway
Every Wednesday from Oct. 5 to Nov. 9
3 to 5:30 p.m.
El Jebel, 0020 Eagle County Drive, Suite E
Oct. 14 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Nov. 4 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Nov. 18 from 1 to 3:30 p.m.
All community members are encouraged to get vaccinated against the flu. According to Public Health officials, the vaccination is important not only to protect the individual, but also those around them. “Even if you're healthy and ‘never get sick,' consider the health of your loved ones before deciding to forego vaccination,” said Rebecca Larson, epidemiologist for Eagle County. “No one wants to bring the flu home to their family.”
The vaccine is also available through local medical providers and pharmacies. Guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control indicate that everyone ages 6 months and older should get vaccinated for seasonal flu every year.
Following the walk-in clinics, flu vaccinations will be available from Public Health by appointment only. Visit www.eaglecounty.us/flu or call 970-328-8840 for more information.
