Eagle County coroner identifies cyclist who died in Ride the Rockies, man found dead in Roaring Fork River
Eagle County Coroner Kara Bettis today released the name of the 67-year-old Ride the Rockies cyclist who died Monday on Tennessee Pass. Jim Deblois of Cape Girardeau, Mo., was found in on U.S. Highway 24 outside of Minturn at approximately 1:40 p.m. No one witnessed him fall.
Deblois was taken to Vail Valley Medical Center but could not be revived. An autopsy is scheduled for today. Bettis said the cause and manner of death will not be known until the procedure is complete.
Bettis also released the identity of a man found dead in the Roaring Fork River on Sunday. The 62-year-old man, who was last known to reside in Basalt, was identified as Thomas Nead Dermilyea.
