Beaver Creek to open parts of Grouse Mountain Friday
Beaver Creek Resort has received six feet of snow season-to-date and thanks to a series of productive snowstorms and cold temperatures, ski patrol is set to open portions of terrain on Grouse Mountain Friday, which is also downhill day for the Audi Birds of Prey World Cup.
Mountain operations teams have been working around the clock to prepare additional terrain for skiers and riders, and on Friday Beaver Creek will offer 1,008 acres of terrain served by nine lifts and seven conveyor lifts. Red Tail run will be open to allow snow riders to ski to the finish area.
The Audi Birds of Prey men's downhill start time is 11 a.m. on Friday. Red Tail Camp, including the Birds Nest and grill, will be open featuring hearty barbecue fare for race fans. Spruce Saddle Restaurant also provides lunch options to refuel on the slopes and both venues offer daily Lunch for Less specials for $9.95.
