Lazier withdraws from Vail Town Council race
Here's a town press release on his withdrawal:
The Vail Town Clerk's Office has been notified of the withdrawal of Buddy Lazier as a candidate for the Vail Town Council in the Nov. 8 regular municipal election. On Oct. 14, Lazier submitted a “statement of withdrawal by candidate” form to the Vail Town Clerk which formally removes his name from the election. The form does not specify a reason for Lazier's withdrawal.
Town Clerk Lorelei Donaldson says the notification has been forwarded in time to remove Lazier's name from the election ballot which will be printed this week. The ballot order of the names of the seven town council candidates will be listed as follows:
Farrow Hitt
Ludwig Kurz
Andrew P. Daly
Rayla J. Kundolf
Stephen Connolly
Margaret Rogers
Greg Moffet
The three persons receiving the highest number of votes will be elected to four-year terms, while the fourth person who gets the next highest number of votes will be seated to a two-year term.
Also on the Nov. 8 ballot is Question No. 1 to receive authorization from Vail's electorate to redirect existing Conference Center Funds to three projects: 1) expansion and improvement of the clubhouse at the Vail Golf Course and Nordic Center, including multi-use community space; 2) field expansion and restroom renovation at the Ford Park Sports Complex; and 3) Ford Amphitheater improvements, including outdoor seating and restroom improvements.
Early voting for Vail's election begins Oct. 27 through Nov. 4. The last day to complete an application to forward a mail ballot to an out of town address is Nov. 1. Applications are available at the Vail Municipal Building or on the town's website at www.vailgov.com
