Deer Valley once again edges Vail in Ski Magazine reader survey of top resorts
Vail is once again No. 2 in Ski Magazine's annual reader survey of the top North American ski resorts, with Deer Valley, Utah, claiming top honors for the fifth straight year. Beaver Creek ranked No. 7.
Aspen Skiing Company's Snowmass was ranked fourth after Whistler Blackcomb, British Columbia in third. Sun Valley, Idaho, rounded out the top five, with Park City Mountain, Utah, in sixth.
Besides Vail and Beaver Creek, Vail Resorts placed one other mountain in the top 10. Breckenridge -- the most skied mountain in the United States -- came in at ninth. Ski's readership is considered more affluent than the readership of other snow riding publications.
“Utah does a really nice job of hosting a lot of skiers,” Ski Editor Greg Ditrinco said, according to the Salt Lake Tribune. “The resorts are close to a major airport and the state is blessed with an abundance of snow.”
