Women's Empowerment Workshop in Vail, featuring M2M's Galpin, to benefit 9 Colorado non-profits
Women's Empowerment Workshop, in Vail Sept. 15-18, will support nine Colorado non-profit organizations, including Mountain2Mountain, founded by mountain biking pioneer Shannon Galpin.
The public is invited to attend the Workshop's Keynote Speaker presentation benefiting M2M. M2M Founder, Shannon Galpin, will speak at Vail Mountain School at 7:30 p.m. on September 16 about her work creating opportunities for women and girls in conflict zones across the world. Her work is currently focused on Afghanistan. Tickets are $20 at the door.
The evening will include a showing of the documentary short by Vail native, Allison Otto, Waking Lions; Bombs,Burqas, and Bikes which documents Galpin's efforts and vision in Afghanistan over the past three years, and her groundbreaking mountain bike ride across the Panjshir Valley last fall.
The event will also host a sneak peek of the Streets of Afghanistan exhibition which debuted this spring at the Denver Art Museum. Lifesize images of an AFghanistan you've never seen allow you to look Afghan women in the eye and look beyond the narrow media lens into the beauty and the heartbreak of this region. Nine Non-Profits Benefit from Women's Empowerment Workshop
Women's Empowerment Workshop also benefits other local and regional non-profits, including Walking Mountains, Eagle River Youth Coalition, Red Ribbon Project, Bright Future Foundation, Eagle Valley Land Trust, All Season's Chalice, Wilderness Workshop and the Colorado Environmental Coalition. Women's Empowerment Workshop will donate back a percentage of every full-price participant registered through these non-profits.

Women's Empowerment Workshop offers women an extraordinary opportunity to connect deeply to nature and to their own sense of self.
