Mark your calendars for the Town of Vail's 12th annual neighborhood picnic series, July 12 at Ellefson Park and Aug. 9 at Bighorn Park. Each picnic will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and free food and drink will be provided by the town on a first-come, first-served basis. The picnics provide residents an opportunity to offer comments and suggestions about community issues.

The first outing at Ellefson Park in West Vail will be hosted by the Town Council and representatives from the fire, community development, administration and finance departments. Joining the Town Council as hosts of the second picnic at Bighorn Park in East Vail will be staff from the police and public works departments.

In addition to the two neighborhood gatherings, citizens are encouraged to share their ideas, concerns and suggestions at any time by calling the Vail Town Council voice mail at 479-1860, ext. 8. In addition, the town's website at www.vailgov.com includes information on town issues and projects, as well as e-mail links and phone numbers for all departments.
