The Riverfront Club at The Westin Riverfront Resort & Spa at Beaver Creek Mountain is pleased to announce it will host two new clinics this spring – a four-week Swimming Clinic starting on April 27 and a ChiRunning Workshop on May 21-22.

ChiRunning Clinic with Mary Lindahl
On May 21-22, the Riverfront Club will host a 2-day workshop on ChiRunning, the revolutionary running technique that combines Tai Chi with the power and energy of running, led by certified instructor Mary Lindahl. ChiRunning takes the pounding, pain and potential damage out of the sport and makes running, safe, efficient and truly enjoyable.

The workshops will cover a variety of aspects of ChiRunning, including:

• The keys to effortless, injury-free running
• How to let gravity do the work
• Posture, Lean & Lift
• Effective arm swing
• Gears and stride length and your optimal cadence
• How to rotate your hips to reduce the impact of the road
• Drills to improve form and techniques for hills
• Pre-run body looseners and post-run stretches

The workshop takes place over two 4-hour sessions from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, May 21-22. The workshop fee, which includes Video Gait Analysis, is $250 for the public and $185 for Riverfront Club members. The Saturday session can be purchased for $150 for the public, $125 for members. More information on ChiRunning can be found at A special room rate is available for lodging at The Westin Riverfront Resort & Spa (Reference code: CHIRATE). Contact reservations at (970) 790-2000 for details.

No more excuses for not swimming!
Swimming is a non-weight bearing activity that can be enjoyed for a lifetime, even by those with physical limitations. It recruits all the major muscle groups and is an excellent way to work cardiovascular and strengthening at the same time.

Starting on April 27, the Riverfront Club's four-week clinic - led by Katie Redden and Tamara Donelson - will provide individual feedback for improving your freestyle breath, stroke efficiency & flip turn. Available to Riverfront Club members only, the program costs $30 per session or $100 for all four sessions.

To sign up for either workshop or for more information on membership at the Riverfront Club, please call (970)790-2051 or email
