Vail's managed parking program kicks in with GoPro Mountain Games this weekend
Beginning with the GoPro Mountain Games this weekend and continuing throughout the summer, Vail’s free parking program will again make use of available spaces in the Vail Village and Lionshead parking structures before allowing cars to park on the frontage road.

This marks the third season for the managed parking program which includes increased transit routes and paid parking at Ford Park during peak event days.
Participants and spectators attending the GoPro Mountain Games, June 6-9, will be directed to the parking structures using variable message signs. The top decks of the structures will be reserved for vehicles with roof racks carrying bikes and kayaks.
The Ford Park and soccer field surface lots also will be used to park cars exceeding the parking structure height restrictions. Overflow parking on the South Frontage Road will be allowed once both parking structures are full.
Express bus service on the frontage road and an extension of the in-town bus route will also be used during the games as well as other events during the summer. The express bus stops are located at the Lionshead Transit Center, the north side of the Vail Village Visitor Center and at Ford Park.
As in the past, summer parking will remain free in the town’s structures with the continuation of $10 paid parking at Ford Park on peak days. The first paid parking event of the season takes place on June 18 with the kick off of the Hot Summer Nights concert series at the Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater.
Details on other Ford Park paid parking dates, passenger drop-off locations and express bus stops and schedules throughout the summer will be updated regularly on vaileventparking.com.
