The Westin Riverfront Resort & Spa at Beaver Creek Mountain is pleased to announce that it has hired Timothy H. Wolfe to serve as General Manager.

Wolfe has been a member of the Colorado Tourism Office Board of Directors since 2009 and will begin serving as CTO's Chairman of the Board next month. He served as Chairman of the Colorado Hotel & Lodging Association for 2011, which named him “Hotelier of the Year.” He has been an Adjunct Professor at Metro State College of Denver in the Hospitality, Tourism & Events department since 2008 and is also the co-founder of Journey to Me, a non-profit organization that provides post-adoption education resources and support.

Wolfe brings more than 25 years of hospitality industry experience to The Westin Riverfront, most recently serving as the General Manager of the Antlers Hilton in Colorado Springs, Colorado. A graduate of The Ohio State University, he was previously the General Manager of the Sheraton Denver West, the Hilton Denver Tech Center and the Founders Inn and Spa in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

“We are thrilled to have a hospitality leader of Timothy's caliber taking the reins at The Westin Riverfront,” said Harry Frampton, Chairman of East West Resorts, which manages the property. “Tim has a proven record of success as a General Manager - everything from motivating associates and connecting with guests to improving revenues and building community partnerships. We know he will do a fantastic job guiding this award-winning resort.”

Opened in 2008, The Westin Riverfront was extremely proud to be Colorado's first Silver LEED certified hotel. The resort has earned many industry accolades in the past four years, including being named the #2 U.S. Resort and #1 U.S. Ski Resort for 2011 by Condé Nast Traveler.

“I'm extremely excited to join this thriving resort,” said Wolfe, who has run the Boston Marathon 20 times and competes annually in Colorado's MS150 Bike event. “My family and I can't wait to embrace living in the Vail Valley and enjoying all the outdoor activities and cultural events. We're looking forward to this new endeavor and becoming valuable members of the community.”

Developed by Colorado's East West Partners, the AAA Four Diamond Westin Riverfront features 230 finely appointed guest residences ranging from studio suites to three-bedroom condominiums, all featuring custom kitchens, five-piece bathrooms, gas fireplaces and Westin Heavenly Beds. Amenities at the dog-friendly resort include a ski valet, a Westin Kids Club, the state-of-the-art Athletic Club at The Westin, a year-round outdoor pool and three riverside infinity-edged hot tubs. Spa Anjali offers an extensive menu of treatments focusing on healing mountain traditions. Cima by internationally acclaimed Chef Richard Sandoval is a contemporary Latin kitchen that blends traditional Latino flavors with global ingredients and cooking techniques.

The Westin Riverfront recently completed an $875,000 expansion of its meeting space – it now offers more than 7,500 square feet of flexible mountain event space - as well as a $1 million expansion of its wellness facilities, including new yoga, cycling and Pilates studios.

Located on the banks of the Eagle River, The Westin Riverfront offers direct skier access to Beaver Creek Mountain via the Riverfront Express Gondola in the winter and amazing fly fishing, hiking, whitewater rafting, mountain biking and golf in the spring, summer and fall.
